I Work...I Thirst...I Win
So I'm at the gym working out and I am super tired. As soon as I finish working out what do you think my next move will be? Well....if you're smart you would have said that I am going to get a drink, specifically water! Anytime we are doing work we get tired and we need water to restore our body so we can go back and continue what we started.
God calls us to carry out his work until it is completed no matter what the costs. So as Christians we MUST be thirsty for God. The Bible says we need to hunger and thrist for righteousness! So if we are doing our part as the body of Christ and putting in work we are going to get thristy. The harder we work the more thristy that we are going to become. As Christians we have to be thirsty! If our hearts and souls are not longing for the Living Water of Jesus to consume us then we need to stop dead in our tracks and get THRISTY. Those who drink from this well will never have to worry about it running dry! So as Christians if we are not thirsty then we must be doing something wrong. This word right here came from my big sis Shajuana Ditto (srditto.blogspot.com) I Work...I Thirst...I WIN! All of those things work hand in hand. If we are not working then we will not be thirsty for more. Which means if we never work then we will never win. Every team has to come together and put in work in order to be successful and pull off the WIN. When I looked up the word WIN in Webster's dictionary there were several ways to define the word. As I looked over the list of options there was one that just stood out. To win means to capture territory! We need to go capture that lost territory that satan has such an incredible hold on. Christians let's DO WORK, stay THRISTY, and in the end we will WIN! I work...I thirst...I WIN! Christians...are we doing our part?
“I have decided to follow Jesus” is a really simple song that many Christians know. When we made this commitment, we agreed not only to follow Jesus, but also to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations. But as I look at the shape the world is in, I question if we’re doing our part.
You see, it’s so easy for us to proclaim the name of Jesus when we’re surrounded by other believers. But what happens when we’re with a group of people who curse the name of Jesus. As I evaluate my own life, I can recall many times that I could have witnessed to someone but I didn’t because I was too worried about what they would say. When I first started my Facebook account, I would check the religious status' of the people on my friends list. If it said they were a Christian, I would always stir up a conversation about God. If their religious status said atheist, I wouldn’t even mention God whenever I wrote them messages. There’s something wrong with this picture. I wonder how many Christians out there have done something similar to this. I’ve realized that God has done too much for us to just sit around and not reach out to those who don’t know Him. He sent his ONLY son to die for all of us so that we might live eternally. I don’t know about you, but I want to see souls set free from the bondage of satan. So Christians, let's be BOLD and let the world know how good God truly is!!! - DeMarcus Just Worship
A couple months ago I found myself in the midst of an amazing worship service with Hillsong Live. The Holy Spirit was thick from beginning to end. There was never a moment when it felt like a concert or a band on stage just playing music. As I continued to seek God in that service, I prayed, "What makes Hillsong different from all the rest? Teach me, Lord, to lead people into Your presence this way."
As I prayed, God began to reveal His answer. I watched each member of the band closely, from the lead singer to the guitar players, keyboard, drummer, DJ, backup singers, etc., and noticed one common characteristic...they were all fully engaged in worship from the first note to the last. If they were not playing, they were lifting their hands in praise...if they were not singing, they were looking to Heaven. God spoke to me and said, "Just worship." Those two words hit me hard. So often we tend to focus on the sound, whether or not people are enjoying the music, outside distractions, etc., when we should be focusing on glorifying the Creator. When we as a people...Just Worship...God will move! After that night, I shared my encounter with God to Steadfast and it shook us. Our main focus since has been to...Just Worship. We know that if we worship Him at all times then He will move in a mighty way. When God's people...Just Worship... ...He ministers ...He heals ...He mends ...He forgives ...He rescues ...He redeems ...He frees - Benson |
